Cindy Reyes Arboleda, M.A., is a highly skilled multimedia bilingual journalist, editor, storyteller, and news producer.
Born in Bogota, Colombia, Arboleda's passion for her community led her to earn a Master's degree from Florida International University's School of International and Public Affairs. She specialized in Latin American and Caribbean studies, where she developed research in the region, immersing in academia to perfect her craft.
Arboleda is an accomplished lifestyle editor having reported for Yahoo! News in New York City. Her original human interest pieces often went viral, touching millions of people across the globe. At The Miami Herald, she interviewed the leaders of the South Florida community and highlighted the people that make her hometown great, bringing the news that matter to them. She was a staff writer at South Florida News Service covering the 2016 Florida Primary Elections, business and culture.
Arboleda is an experienced video producer. She spearheaded FIU's Student Media as the Entertainment Director, reviving its multimedia content with engaging news packages and photo galleries. Arboleda produced digital content for Viacom International at the Nickelodeon Studios in Downtown Miami, collaborating in the Multiplatform Content department.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in broadcast journalism, Arboleda was selected among hundreds of rising minority journalists across the United States as a Knight Foundation fellow at The City University of New York Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. There, she earned a full-tuition scholarship based on academic merit for the J-School's M.A. program.
